SENTENCE

A.    Simple Sentence

Simple sentence is a sentence that consists of only one object and a predicate

Example: Saki likes coffee

B.     Compound Sentence

Compound Sentence is a sentence composed of two or more simple sentence

Example : Niki likes ice cream but saki likes coffee

C.    Complex Sentence

Complex Sentence is a sentence consisting of one main clause (main clause) and one or more subordinate clauses (subordinate clause)

Example : She called me while I was having dinner

D.    Compound - Complex Sentence

Compound Complex Sentence is a sentence consisting of two or more main clause (main clause) and one or more subordinate clauses (subordinate clause)

Example :

Sarah said that she would go home but she never found time.

When the mail come, it was given at once to the secretary, but she didn’t examine it.

Negative Sentence

Negative sentence is a sentence containing a negative sense. There are several ways to form a negative sentence, namely:

Use the word 'not' which is displayed after the auxiliary verb

She can swim

She will go

She must come

We shall go away

She may come in

If the positive sentence is no auxiliary verb we use the auxiliary verb do, plus does not

I like swimming

She eats in the morning

She said something

use the word ‘no’

I have no money at all

She is no longer here

She saw nobody

She said nothing

She want nowhere

She invited no one
